On the occasion of the launch of the 'tp' Internet domain, the East Timor International Support Center (ETISC) expresses its strongest and most enthusiastic support for this creative initiative. Our Irish friends of the East Timor Ireland Solidarity Campaign and Connect Ireland have provided many of us working for the defence of the right of self-determination of the people of East Timor a most useful tool. It will also be a very useful facility for the East Timorese, as they develop their organisations both inside and outside the territory, with a corresponding increase in their communications needs. For the East Timor International Support Center, whose scope is global, the availability of the 'tp' domain is very convenient. No longer will be need to use Internet addresses that associate us to another country, when in reality our primary country link is to East Timor. We therefore intend to make full use of this new facility, and will change our Internet addresses accordingly. We also expect to be able to work closely with the developers of this initiative in a number of campaigns to promote the East Timor cause which this new facility makes easy to implement. Our thanks and congratulations to our Irish friends for this novel and important contribution to the East Timor cause. Juan Federer ETISC -East Timor International Support Center |

On behalf of the Australia East Timor Association in NSW , " It's good to see an initiative like this, one that shows the growing depth and breadth of the support for justice and peace for the people of East Timor. May this be a step on the way to a solution for
this tragic conflict - one that has already cost untold suffering of
innocent people. Lets hope we can all work with the East Timorese
people to find justice as soon as possible Best wishes, |

I would like to join in contragulating the Irish for their continuing support for the people of East Timor. If only at least a dozen other countries had put as much effort into their support today East Timor would be on the way to independence. The Irish position is in sharp contrast to the position of the Howard Government, which is essentially motivated by economic opportunism. James Dunn |
"This important initiative establishes a continuity, from the pre-December 7th 1975 status of East Timor, to today. Creating a base from which to plan, to coordinate and to work with the East Timorese people to achieve their goal of nationhood. To that end we are united! Thanks for your initiative and work in preparing this nation cyber-structure." -N.Sullivan Address: PO Box 570 Victoria Park WA 6979 Australia. is the WA affiliate of the Australian Coalition for a free East Timor (ACET) |
